A Purple Alert has been issued for a missing Tampa man with schizophrenia and autism.

Tampa police say 20-year-old Zachariah Davis functions at the cognitive level of a 12-year-old.

Davis was last seen around 10 a.m. Monday, leaving his home on N 13th Street near E Juneau Street.

He is described as being 6-foot-3 and 330 pounds. When he left his home, Davis was wearing a white jacket, khaki pants and black shoes.

If you see Davis or have any information on where he may be, you’re asked to call the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130 to help officers reunite him with his concerned family.

What is a Purple Alert in Florida?

Purple Alert is issued when an adult over the age of 18 with mental, cognitive, intellectual or developmental disabilities goes missing.

It’s different than a Silver Alert, which is used to locate missing people 60 years and up who are suffering from irreversible deterioration of intellectual faculties.
