A lawsuit has been filed by a teacher in the Little Miami School District after he was ordered to remove a poster that read “Hate has no home here.”The lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio claims the teacher’s first amendment right to free speech was violated.The teacher is seeking to be able to put the poster back up as litigation in the case continues.The teacher who filed the lawsuit claimed the poster had been up for years and is meant as a general message of inclusion and anti-bullying. He added that there is not meant to be any lesson for students on sexuality or gender ideology.According to the lawsuit, the sign features an American flag, a peace sign, a Pride flag and a transgender Pride flag.A spokesperson for the Little Miami School District said the district cannot comment on pending litigation.“The Little Miami School District is aware of the lawsuit filed in federal court. While we cannot comment on the specifics of pending litigation, the district remains committed to supporting all students and staff and maintaining a respectful learning environment, while following state and federal law and Board-adopted policies,” the district’s statement said.
