A man has been arrested and is accused of shooting and killing his estranged wife, according to the Orlando Police Department. Police said the shooting happened Monday around 1:30 p.m. on Eaglesmere Drive, just west of Kirkman Road. Police say Himber Romero called 911 after shooting his wife, Franyelin Reyes.When officers arrived, they found Reyes with a gunshot wound. Despite paramedics’ life-saving efforts, the woman died.Investigators said a fight between the two led to the attack. While the two were still living together, they had recently separated. Reyes also started a new relationship, which officers said led to many arguments. Romero is now on an immigration detainer because investigators said he and his wife entered the country illegally. They said they entered through Texas in 2023 and requested asylum. Officers said this is an active investigation.
