In addition to announcing the closure, Disney shared the changes that will be coming to the golf course:

Greens – Fully renovated with new contouring and elevations

Green-side bunker and chipping area – Playability updates

Irrigation systems – Upgraded around the greens to better maintain turf conditions in the surrounding chipping areas

Bunker drainage systems – New systems to reduce water retention and improve playing conditions after rain

Teeing grounds – Enhancements to several areas

The news comes soon after the Magnolia Course reopened after an extensive refurbishment, including reimagining several holes into a new “Grumpy Gauntlet.” Walt Disney World Golf was also recognized as the 2026 NGCOA Resort Course of the Year.

Disney’s other golf courses – Magnolia, Palm, and Oak Trail – will remain open during the Lake Buena Vista closure.
