SANFORD, Fla. – Seminole County on Monday opened sandbag sites out of an abundance of caution after nearly 20 inches of rain fell in portions of Central Florida.
The Seminole County Emergency Management said it is monitoring elevated water levels on the St. Johns River.
Some portions of Central Florida, especially Brevard and Lake counties, saw excessive rain on Sunday, with Eustis receiving over 19 inches.
Another 2-4 inches of rain are possible Monday across the region.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Seminole County has opened the following sandbag sites,” the county said.

Meanwhile, a massive cooldown is headed to Central Florida, with wake-up temperatures on Friday expected to dip into the 40s and 50s.
