TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa police and an alligator trapper wrangled a “Florida-style uninvited guest,” which was found in a pool on March 29, according to footage.

The Tampa Police Department posted body camera footage of officers as they responded to an intruder call in Arbor Greene. Officers found a 9-foot alligator in the screened-in pool area of the callers’ home.

Body camera footage shows a nuisance alligator trapper dragging the “scaly suspect” into the pool. The trapper said the alligator would tire himself while swimming.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, nuisance alligators cannot be relocated and are typically euthanized.
