A man and a teen were arrested after multiple stolen vehicles were found at an alleged chop shop in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.
Jose Manuel Moreno, 19, was arrested Tuesday on six counts of grand theft of a vehicle, burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, operating, owning or aiding and abetting a chop shop, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and resisting an officer without violence, an arrest report said.
A 17-year-old was also arrested amid the investigation, the report said.
According to the report, a woman was able to track her stolen Honda CR-V to an abandoned home in the 1300 block of Northwest 77th Terrace.
Deputies responded and found the two suspects walking nearby but when they tried to stop them, the suspects fled on foot, jumping fences at homes, the report said.
The two were taken into custody after a helicopter and K9 responded and a perimeter was established.
Moreno, who was found on the roof of a home, was wearing all black and had a black ski mask and a bookbag containing burglary tools, the report said.
The victim’s vehicle was found along with three other Honda CR-Vs. Two were dismantled and missing various parts and all three had been stolen, the report said.

Two other plates were found including one belonging to the woman’s stolen vehicle, the report said.
Moreno was arrested and booked into jail, and the 17-year-old was taken to the juvenile assessment center, the report said.
