MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Two males were taken into custody Wednesday night following a deputy chase in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.

According to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Detective Argemis “AC” Colome, deputies responded to the area of Southwest 184th Street and 122nd Avenue at about 7:05 p.m. in reference to a traffic stop involving a wanted subject.

“According to preliminary information, as deputies attempted to detain the driver, the subject fled the scene, striking multiple deputies,” Colome said in an email to Local 10 News. “A pursuit ensued and concluded near the Florida Turnpike and SW 40 Street.”

Colome confirmed that two males were taken into custody and are pending charges while a female that was in the vehicle was released.

The ages and identities of the two suspects have not yet been released. Authorities have not confirmed why one of the suspects was wanted by them.

Colome said the deputies who were struck by the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
