The Normal U-High baseball team blasted four home runs in a 17-1 win over Jacksonville at Future Champions on Wednesday.
U-High, which improved to 11-1, scored three runs in the first, five in the second, four in the third and five more in the fourth to end the game by run rule.

The Pioneers out-hit Jacksonville 13-5. The Crimsons scored their only run in the second inning.
Joe Reif led JHS with two hits.
Ethan Kruzan took the loss, giving up 10 runs on seven hits in two innings pitched. Nolan Peters pitched the final two innings for Jacksonville, allowing seven runs (two earned) on six hits.
Jacksonville fell to 7-5 with its third straight loss.

ROUTT 19, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 6
Brady Turner and Bryson Mossman both homered, and Talon Thompson hit three doubles as the Routt baseball team rolled past Piasa Southwestern on Wednesday.
Routt trailed 4-0 after Southwestern scored four runs in the bottom of the first. The Rockets clawed back with two runs in the second and two in the third to cut the lead to 5-4 before scoring six runs in the fourth to take the lead.
With one out in the fourth inning, Kale Reich was hit by a pitch. Sam Long and Oliver Smith singled to load the bases before Thompson hit a three-run double to give Routt a 7-5 lead. Mossman followed with a double to drive in a run before Turner blasted a two-run homer to increase the Rockets’ lead to 10-5.

Routt added nine runs in the sixth to blow the game open.
The Rockets finished with 15 hits. Long had three hits, including a double, and Mossman and Turner had two apiece. Thompson and Turner drove in four runs each.
Routt also stole eight bases, with two each by Mossman, Long and Jacob Brown.
Taegan Rives started the game on the mound, giving up five runs on four hits in one-and-two-thirds innings. Jonas Brown picked up the win in relief, holding Southwestern to a run on four hits over the final four-and-one-third. He struck out three and walked one.

WEST CENTRAL 23, SOUTH FULTON 0
Anthony Hance, Tucker Arnold and Thrice Kirkpatrick had three hits apiece, and three pitchers combined for a two-hit shutout as West Central beat South Fulton on Wednesday.
West Central’s first 10 batters reached safely as the Cougars scored 16 runs in the first inning. West Central batted around twice, with 21 at-bats in the inning. Hance, Arnold and Preston Adams each hit two-run singles in the frame.

West Central added seven runs in the second inning.
Arnold hit a double for the Cougars’ only extra-base hit. He drove in a total of five runs.
Kirkpatrick, Jackson Little and Hayden Johns all pitched for West Central. They combined for 10 strikeouts and only one walk.
West Central improved to 4-5.

BROWN COUNTY 10, RUSHVILLE-INDUSTRY 0
The Brown County baseball team banged out 10 hits in a win over Rushville-Industry in Mount Sterling on Wednesday.
The Hornets scored a run in the second inning, then added seven in the fifth and two in the sixth to end the game early by run rule. Jack Sefton hit a two-run double in the fifth inning, followed by a two-run homer by Jaxon Henricks.
Henricks and Michael Kassing had two hits apiece. Thomas Boylen hit a double for the Hornets.

Wyatt Kassing shut out Rushville-Industry on only four hits. He struck out eight batters and walked two.
Brown County improved to 3-2-1.
BEARDSTOWN 5, PITTSFIELD 3
The Beardstown baseball team scored two runs in the sixth inning to beat Pittsfield on Wednesday.

With the score tied 3-3 after five, Caleb Hobrock reached on an error and Parker Bell hit a double to put runners at second and third. Carter Ross grounded into a fielder’s choice to drive in Hobrock, then Maddox Medrano grounded into a fielder’s choice to score Bell. Neither team scored again.
Bell led Beardstown two doubles. Starkin Sena Fajardo also hit a double. Ross drove in two runs without a hit.
Trey Riddell picked up the win on the mound. He allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits in five-and-two-thirds innings, with four strikeouts and three walks. Colby Desollar earned a save, shutting out Pittsfield on two hits in one-and-one-third innings pitched. He struck out one and walked no one.
Pittsfield’s Bobby Harris pitched the first five-and-one-third innings, giving up five runs (two earned) on six hits. He struck out five and walked three. Jacob Hull shut out the Tigers on no hits over the final one-and-two-thirds, with three strikeouts and one walk.

Kaden Ferguson and Knox Dunham had two hits apiece to lead Pittsfield. Hayden Gratton hit a home run, and Brody Tomhave hit a double.
Beardstown improved to 3-4 while Pittsfield fell to 8-5.
