Manhattan Construction established a regional base in Naples nearly 20 years ago. Now, the company is planning for its future in Lee County.
The Oklahoma-based construction firm, founded in 1896, recently broke ground on a $15 million, 53,000-square-foot headquarters that will house about 300 employees across four companies operating under the Manhattan umbrella.
Rooney Real Estate Company LLC purchased the 3.3-acre site at 14161 Jetport Loop in July 2025 for $2.9 million, property records show. The site sits east of Interstate 75 and west of Treeline Avenue, between Daniels Parkway and Alico Road.

Francis Rooney, a Naples resident, former U.S. congressman and chair of Manhattan Construction, will face a longer commute than most employees. Currently, many workers travel from Lee County to Collier County to reach the company’s existing headquarters at 3705 Westview Drive, just east of Naples Airport. The approximately 46,000-square-foot building, acquired in 2013, will be listed for sale.
“We want to make it easier for our employees,” Rooney said. “You’ve seen I-75 in the mornings and the evenings. It’s like a parking lot.”
The relocation positions Manhattan Construction closer to the center of development activity in Southwest Florida.
“The atmosphere up here in Lee County is very pro-business and pro-development,” Rooney said.

The new headquarters is expected to be completed by April 2027, said Craig Bryant, Manhattan Construction’s vice president of Southwest Florida operations.
“Ninety percent of our work is in Lee County or Charlotte County,” Bryant said. “It’s just important for us to be where the work is.”
That work includes Phase 1 of Southwest Florida International Airport’s terminal expansion, an ongoing project that has surpassed $600 million.
“That job is a bit of an anomaly,” Bryant said. “Most of our projects are in the $10 million to $15 million range. We talk a lot about this pyramid. That $10 million to $15 million range is the foundation of what we do.”
Manhattan Construction also is building a 24-story condominium tower in Estero, The Island at West Bay Club, where construction has reached the 11th floor. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2027.

Bryant said the company currently has 16 projects underway in the region.
The company maintains other regional offices in Tampa; Atlanta; Washington, D.C.; Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Dallas and Houston.
“Today represents more than building a building,” Bryant told about 50 attendees at the groundbreaking. “It repositions Manhattan long term with the community of Lee County.”
The new facility also will consolidate four Manhattan-affiliated companies under one roof. Following Manhattan’s 2008 acquisition of Naples-based Kraft Construction, the company also took ownership of Spectrum, which specializes in concrete restoration, waterproofing and structural strengthening.
