April 9, 2026 – The City of St. Petersburg will launch the PeliCAN (Community Access to Nutrition) Grant Program to address economic opportunity and healthy food access challenges for residents who live in United States Department of Agriculture-identified Healthy Food Priority areas of St. Petersburg. According to a prepared statement, recipients will receive “starting capital and stipends, technical training and mentorship” to help create “a mobile healthy food retail establishment.” Grant applications open May 1.
