Michael Kevin Burns
OBITUARY
Michael Kevin Burns, 73, of Oakland Park, FL, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born on September 16, 1952, in Tampa, Florida, and moved to the Fort Lauderdale area in 1968. Mike was a phenomenal bass player and played in several bands in South Florida over the last 55 years, most recently with Burnt Biscuit for the last 22 years. Mike worked at Sewell Hardware in West Palm Beach for over 20 years and was loved by his coworkers, contractors, and anyone who encountered him. Mike is survived by his wife, Susie Hanson Burns, his son, Chris Burns (Kerry), his daughter, Nichole Collida (Fred), his sister, Pamela Jewell (Trevor), brothers, Paul Burns (Karen), Lee Burns (Diane), and Price Whitlock (Patty), as well as his granddaughter, Riley Burns, and grandsons, Reece Collida and Logan Burns. Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Savannah Burns. Mike will be missed by his family and friends, as well as his Burnt Biscuit family. A celebration of life ceremony is being planned for a future date.
