Police say the man entered the business and requested a massage before allegedly assaulting the employee.
PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A man is in custody following a reported sexual battery at a Pinellas Park spa.
Police say it happened Thursday night when the suspect, Adreon Grant, entered Pure Wellness Massage Spa on 49th Street North and requested a massage.
Sometime during the massage, police say Grant sexually battered the female employee before fleeing the scene. He also reportedly took items from the scene and attempted to stop the victim from calling 911.
As police began their investigation, Grant was seen driving past the spa just hours after the incident took place.
Officers identified Grant’s vehicle and attempted a traffic stop a short time later. While he was driving, Grant crashed into a tree. He was not injured and was taken into custody without incident.
Grant, 40, was taken to the Pinellas County Jail and charged with sexual battery and tampering with a witness.
The investigation remains active.
