JACKSONVILLE, Ore. – Jacksonville police were on the scene in a standoff with a barricaded, armed individual on the 400 block of Oak Street in Jacksonville on Friday afternoon.

According to the Jacksonville Police Department, the barricaded subject was wanted for assault with a weapon. At least one person in the home was injured. Law enforcement was seen in the trees outside the suspect’s home.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted with K-9, drone, and SWAT resources.

The Jacksonville Police Department issued a shelter-in-place order at 2:25 pm for residents within a one-block radius of Oak Street. As of 5:10 pm, the shelter-in-place is no longer active. Further details are yet to be released.

UPDATE 5:41 pm: The Jacksonville Police Department is reporting that they have apprehended the suspect and law enforcement is clearing the area. They plan on releasing additional information at a later time.
