TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The 10th annual PBJ PLZ! donation drive is in full swing, and in the first 9 days, the drive has already raised more than $12,000.
As donations come in from the community, Leon County school children are bringing jars of peanut butter and jelly to school.
At Leon High School, students in a freshman leadership class have been going door to door each day to collect peanut butter and jelly that classmates have brought in.
The class spearheads the drive each year, and usually collects hundreds of pounds of PB&J to help hungry kids in the community.
“You see all these brands, Skippy, Jiff and all that, we don’t see any of that. We just see being able to feed people. Students of Leon High School helping, pitching in, and stuff like that,” Leon High freshman Ja’Michael Clary said.

All the jars of peanut butter and jelly wind up stacked in the cage that surrounds the beloved Leon lion in the school lobby. The donations will be picked up soon, weighed and added to the PBJ PLZ! donation totals!
