Sheriffs say the case began in December 2025 during ‘Operation Northern Lights,’ a two-week multi-agency effort in which 43 critically missing children were recovered.
According to LCSO, one of the children recovered was reported missing from Quincy, and was later found to have been advertised on online solicitation platforms.

Investigators said Furman directed and financially benefited from the exploitation of that Quincy child. Furman also reportedly had sexual activity with the minor.
Sheriff Walt McNeil said investigations connected to operations like Northern Lights often continue after the operation ends.
“Even months later, we’re still working these cases, still building them, and still making arrests. If you exploit children, we will find you and hold you accountable,” McNeil said.
The investigation is currently active. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
