Police are still actively searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a woman, who was transported to the hospital in serious condition after a Sunday afternoon shooting.

Just before 11:30 a.m., on Oct. 26, officers with the Tallahassee Police Department responded to the 2800 block of Mission Road in reference to a woman injured in a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, she was later transported to a local hospital.

A resident nearby described on social media hearing eight gunshots.

“The suspect, an adult male, is known to the victim, and preliminary findings indicate this is an isolated incident,” the agency wrote in an incident alert.

A member of the Tallahassee Democrat reached out to a TPD watch commander who was at the scene on Sunday who shared that the shooting was “no danger to the public.”

On Monday, TPD officials said “no arrests have been made as the suspect has not been located by law enforcement.”

The shooting is at least the 48th serious shooting this year in the capital city and county. So far in 2025, 17 have died and at least 35 have been injured, according to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of gun violence.
