Gator Fest brings Florida culture to Fort Myers with alligator wrestling and family fun

Southern Fresh Farms in Fort Myers this hosting Gator Fest throughout the weekend, showcasing Florida culture with live alligator wrestling, Native American presentations and family-friendly entertainment. Saturday’s festival offered a variety of activities, including a petting zoo with Highland cows and other farm animals, food trucks, and a pit master smoking a whole alligator for gator bites. Special guests, such as cast members from the show “Swamp People,” were in attendance, and visitors could support local businesses at the farmers market. Bo McMahon of Southern Fresh Farms said, “So the idea of Gator Fest is to give the community an opportunity to really experience true Florida. You know, the you think, the beaches, you think the tourism. But it’s it’s also the swamp. It’s the Native Americans. It’s, this is a part of the Florida culture.
