Welcome to my weekly Sunday DraftKings MLB DFS plays. I’ll break down some of the prime picks on the board, including studs and value plays, and why these players can lead your lineup to victory.

Top MLB DFS Targets

Pitcher Studs

SP Sandy Alcantara (MIA), $9,500: Sandy might be all the way back, folks. Since winning his Cy Young award, Alcantara has struggled to get back into form due to injuries. Through the first couple of weeks, he has been the best pitcher in baseball, full stop. Incredibly, Sandy is averaging eight innings pitched per start and posting a 1.35 expected ERA. Detroit’s lineup has some great bats, but with a lot of their key players struggling, this is a chance for Sandy to mow them down once again.

SP Cam Schlittler (NYY), $8,600: Speaking of pitchers off to a scorching start. After dazzling as a rookie in the playoffs, Schlittler is ready to put his first full season on the map. So far, so good. The imposing righty has a 1.43 expected ERA through 16.2 innings, punching out 22 batters. Tampa Bay has a solid top of the lineup, but Schlittler is hard to touch for anybody.

Pitcher Value Plays

SP Taj Bradley (MIN), $7,200: Taj Bradley is looking like a steal for the Minnesota Twins. With a reworked pitch arsenal, Bradley has a 1.08 ERA through three starts, piling up the strikeouts with his big-time fastball and nasty splitter. Toronto’s lineup has been a bit rocky to begin the season, and I love the price on Bradley. Unless you’re locked on to other names, he is an elite SP2 value.

SP Aaron Civale (ATH), $6,800: If you can’t quite afford Bradley, Aaron Civale is your best bet. This Mets lineup looks feeble without Juan Soto; Francisco Lindor is clearly feeling the effects of his hamate injury, and his teammates have not picked him up. Civale isn’t the big name you’d think of, but he can give you 5-6 strong innings without letting things get out of control.

Infield Studs

2B Brice Turang (MIL), $5,300: Brice Turang is a problem at the top of the Brewers lineup. He can steal a bag, slap a double, and sure knows how to take a walk. Against a shaky Nationals pitching staff, the top of the Milwaukee order will get several chances to do damage. Turang will be in the thick of it when they put up crooked numbers.

3B Maikel Garcia (KC), $4,900: Here’s the beginning of my favorite stack of the day. Jonathan Cannon will make his first appearance for the White Sox this season after a disastrous 2025. The tall righty owned a 5.82 ERA last season, owning one of the ugliest Baseball Savant pages around. He’ll have Grant Taylor as an opener, but is expected to take up the bulk of the middle innings. Maikel Garcia is the perpetual leadoff man for the Royals, and will set the tone against Cannon. The man at the hot corner is batting .327 after Saturday’s effort, where he socked a homer and scored both of their runs. His elite run-scoring potential and on-base skills will play well in a great spot. And he’s not the only Royal I’m after.

Infield Value Plays

C Carter Jensen (KC), $4,100: Most people got to know Carter Jensen after his alarm fiasco. Since that fateful oversleeping, he’s absolutely torching the ball, raising his OPS to .880 courtesy of four home runs. This is as good a spot as any to run into one, and he’s by far the best catcher value on the board.

1B Vinnie Pasquantino (KC), $4,200: One more Royal for the road? It’s been a quiet start to the season for the Pasquatch, who is the top run-producing bat in the Kansas City lineup, driving in 210 runs in his previous two seasons. Yet the big slugger only has one extra-base hit in the young season. This is his get-right spot, and the deflated price gives him some extra value.

SS Willy Adames (SF), $4,200: The Giants may have unlocked something by moving Willy Adames to the leadoff spot. He’s batting over .300 since moving to the top of the order, and punched a home run on Friday against the Orioles. The extra-base potential is quite high for Adames, and with a boost to the run-scoring potential as this Giants lineup begins to wake up, he’s a tremendous value in a deep shortstop position.

Outfield Studs

OF Corbin Carroll (ARI), $5,900: If you need a true lineup anchor, Corbin Carroll is your man. Incredibly, he has had two games of 24+ DFS points in his last four appearances. The speed-and-power combo in the middle of the Arizona lineup is lethal, and he’s facing a youngster in Andrew Painter, who is no sure thing. If you can find a way to make the price work, get Carroll in there.

Outfield Value Plays

OF Taylor Ward (BAL), $4,700: Taylor Ward has been well worth the trade price for the Orioles as he kicks off his Baltimore career. The former Angel is batting well over .300 with a league-leading 10 doubles. With power, bat-to-ball skills, and a great eye, he has tremendous run-scoring potential against Adrian Houser and the Giants.

OF Chandler Simpson (TB), $4,000: This guy is a joy to watch. A true throwback type, Simpson slaps the ball all around the infield and shallow outfield. He hits for average, can steal a base as well as anyone, and puts tremendous pressure on the defense. Hitting against Yankees phenom Cam Schlittler, he’ll have a full green light to steal when he gets on base, giving him an extra boost in value.
