Wand collectors should be on the lookout during their next visit to CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort for this new wave of interactive character wands.
Three new character wands designed after those used by Voldemort, Sirius Black, and Luna Lovegood are now available for purchase at Universal Orlando Resort’s CityWalk.
All three wands are of the second generation interactive variety, offering additional functionality with interactive displays and park elements across Universal Orland Resort properties. You can check out our review of the new wand features from last year.
Voldemort Wand – $85
Voldemort’s wand has a striking, skeletal design, with a handle that flares outward into hooked, fang-like contours, giving it the appearance of carved bone or some sinister organic material. Near the base of the shaft, the wand is dotted with dark oval markings that enhance the eerie, almost serpent-like look, while the rest of the wand tapers into a long, smooth, straight shaft. Its light color and predatory shape make it stand out sharply against the dark-tone wands around it.
Lord Voldemort is the primary antagonist of the Harry Potter series, a dark wizard obsessed with immortality, power, and blood purity. Born as Tom Riddle, he becomes one of the most feared figures in the wizarding world.
Sirius Black Wand – $85
Sirius Black’s wand has a slender profile, finished in a deep black tone, with a highly textured surface. One section near the handle features etched, rune-like markings, while much of the rest of the wand is wrapped in raised spiral ridges and swirling, vine-like relief patterns. The overall design has a lightly gothic look that suits the character’s mysterious and rebellious aura.
Sirius Black is Harry Potter’s godfather and one of his most loyal protectors, as well as a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Though once falsely imprisoned in Azkaban, he is remembered among the main cast as a hero and for his deep devotion to Harry and his friends.
Luna Lovegood Wand – $85
Luna Lovegood’s wand is much simpler and smoother than the others featured here, sporting a warm medium-brown wood tone with a clean, understated silhouette. The handle is bulbous, almost tulip-shaped, before narrowing through a couple of rounded nodal bands into a straight, plain shaft. Compared with the dramatic textures of Voldemort’s and Sirius’s wands, Luna’s feels restrained and elegant.
Luna Lovegood is a Ravenclaw student known for her eccentric personality and unwavering kindness. Despite being written off as “loony” by other Hogwarts students, she proves to be one of Harry’s most perceptive and dependable friends.
These three character wands join an existing lineup of second-generation designs that include Harry Potter himself, Dumbledore, and Hermione Granger.
We found all of these new wands at the Universal Studio Store in CityWalk.
