A rainy week on the Island makes it the perfect time to look back at the 20th annual Key Biscayne Rib-Off, held on a Saturday when not even steady, off-and-on afternoon rain could keep locals away from this beloved tradition. Blending community spirit, friendly competition and philanthropy, the event once again delivered.
Held at the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, the Rib-Off honors the life of co-founder Dr. Robert Kemper by raising funds for the Dr. Robert Kemper Award for Professionalism in Medicine at Florida International University.
This year’s competition for bragging rights was tight, with just 1.17588 points separating first and second place. The Stony Broma’s team, captained by Aabad Melwani, narrowly claimed top honors over The Ribbones, led by Andres Navarro.
