LUTZ, FL — National burger chain Whataburger is continuing its expansion in the Tampa Bay area with a new restaurant coming to Lutz.
The new location at 25340 Sierra Center Blvd. is set to open Thursday at 11 a.m., WFLA reported.
The first 80 guests in line and the first 20 cars to come through the drive-thru will receive a Whataburger merch-filled goodie bag, reports said.
This is the brand’s second location in the Tampa Bay area.
Whataburger opened a restaurant in Largo at 10150 Ulmerton Road in February.
Another is coming soon to Brandon at 1426 West Brandon Boulevard, according to the company’s website. No opening date is set yet for this location.
There are more than 50 Whatburgers open or planned in Florida.
In August 2024, the company announced its plans to expand in the Tampa Bay area with several new locations by 2026, Creative Loafing reported.
The region previously was home to multiple Whataburger locations in the late-1990s and early-2000s, reports said.
