One man was killed and two others were shot during the Taste of Miami Karnival in Little Haiti on Sunday night, Miami Police officials said.
A ShotSpotter alert shortly before midnight had detected gunfire near the main stage of the event, in the area of Northeast 2nd Avenue and Northeast 62nd Street, police said.
Three men were found shot, and they were rushed to the hospital. One of the victims did not survive, police said. Their identities weren’t released.
No one is in custody and the investigation continues, authorities said.
Drivers should be aware that though the scene has cleared, streets may be closed around the event as the barricades are picked up, police said Monday morning.
The roadway should reopen “momentarily,” police said.
Taste of Miami Karnival is a “daylong cultural program blending Caribbean cuisine, visual art and live performance,” according to the official website of greater Miami and Miami Beach.
