Fire Betty’s, an arcade bar in Tallahassee, Florida, US, has announced that it will close for a two-week period as it undergoes renovations to become “an actual arcade bar.”
The venue originally launched as an arcade bar over a decade ago, before it changed its focus to live music and events.
In a social media post the venue said: “We’re shutting down for a couple of weeks to renovate and bring Fire Betty’s back to what Tallahassee has wanted all along: an actual arcade bar again.”
For Fire Betty’s this will mean a mix of modern arcade games that it described as “top-tier,” alongside a range of classic arcade favourites.
“The old Fire Betty’s is coming back, and it’s going to be better than ever,” the post added.
April Fool’s Day tease
The venue first teased its refurbishment plans on April first, in a light-hearted April Fool’s Day joke.
It confirmed the next day that its plans to change the venue to be more focused on arcade games were concrete.
