Cape Coral Animal Shelter received a $1,105 grant and neonatal care supplies from Orphan Kitten Club to support its kitten program ahead of kitten season. The funding will equip foster caregivers with specialized kits for bottle-fed kittens, including feeding tools, warming devices and monitoring equipment. In 2025, the shelter cared for 250 kittens under eight weeks old and achieved a 96% live release rate. Its foster network now includes more than 250 families, critical to caring for neonates that require feeding every two to three hours and constant monitoring. Shelter leaders said the grant will expand capacity to care for vulnerable kittens and improve survival rates during the annual influx of newborn animals.Â
