HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (CBS12) — Federal investigators are asking the public for help on Tuesday as they continue investigating the shooting of rapper Offset outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood in early April.
FBI Miami said the shooting happened at approximately 7:24 p.m. on April 6, when a large group of individuals assaulted a lone victim outside the casino. During the confrontation, one of the subjects produced a handgun and fired a single shot, striking the victim, identified by local authorities as rapper Offset. Afterward, the group attempted to remove the victim’s watch, but it was not stolen.
Authorities said the suspects fled in two Chevrolet SUVs — a matte gray Chevrolet Tahoe and a black Chevrolet Suburban. Investigators believe the black Suburban fled toward Hollywood, while the Tahoe traveled southbound toward Miami.

In previous reports, the victim in the shooting was rapper Offset, whose legal name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and was later reported to be “up and walking” as he recovered.
In the hours following the shooting, rapper Lil Tjay, whose legal name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested nearby by Seminole Police. Authorities said he was not charged in connection with the shooting but faced separate charges, including disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Investigators have not announced any suspects charged in the shooting itself.
