WIMAUMA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for four counts of attempted murder after he allegedly shot at a boat on a lake.
On April 13, at 8:07 p.m., deputies say four people were on a boat fishing on Lake Wimauma when Leo Palacios, 60, began shouting at them before going into his house and getting a firearm. He fired multiple times toward the boat, but missed.
One of the victims recognized Palacios, and deputies located the suspect at his home.
Palacios was arrested and faces several charges:
Felon in possession of a firearmAggravated battery with a deadly weapon with firearm discharge (four counts)Second-degree attempted murder degree with firearm discharge (four counts)Discharge firearm in public or on residential property
This remains an active investigation.
