A man who didn’t return home from fishing at Barnett Park was found dead on Wednesday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.Deputies responded to the park just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday to look for the man, and later found the man’s body. He has been identified as 75-year-old Willie Lewis.Deputies spent hours searching the area from the ground, in the water and from the air. OCSO’s Marine and Dive units helped in the search.Family members stood nearby for hours, waiting for answers.“I’m not sure how often, but he fished here a lot at Barnett Park,” a family member said.Hours into the search, the sheriff’s office said its Marine and Dive units recovered Lewis’ body. The medical examiner’s office also responded to the scene.Family members described Lewis as someone who loved fishing and the outdoors.“He was a loving person, he was just a good person that liked fishing,” a family member said. OCSO called the outcome tragic but said they hope recovering Lewis will bring some comfort to his family.The medical examiner’s office said Lewis’ cause of death has not yet been determined.
