TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a crash that left a woman dead and a Temple Terrace police officer injured.
The collision happened at around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday on Fowler Avenue. An FHP spokesperson told 10 Tampa Bay News that the officer was in a Ford Explorer when the crash happened.
A 36-year-old woman, who was in a Nissan, was involved in the crash and was taken to the hospital, where troopers say she died.
FHP said the officer was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and is stable. They added that he does not appear to be at fault.
It’s unknown what led up to the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
