Tampa, FL – Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist is suggesting a new approach to ongoing stadium discussions by proposing a potential location swap between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Crist raised the idea as conversations continue across the Tampa Bay region regarding stadium development, funding, and long term planning.
His proposal suggests relocating the Rays to Tampa while moving the Buccaneers to St. Petersburg.
The concept is intended to distribute major league sports more evenly between both cities and potentially address concerns tied to stadium access, attendance, and economic impact.
The Rays have been actively exploring options for a new ballpark for several years, including potential sites within Tampa and St. Petersburg.
