Sunshine City Comedy Club of St. Pete Beach is proud to announce “Laughs for Local News,” a special night of jocularity benefiting The Gabber Newspaper, Florida’s oldest independent weekly newspaper. The event will take place on Thursday, October 30 at 8 p.m. at the Sunshine City Comedy Club, at 5501 Gulf Blvd., St Pete Beach.

This evening promises a lineup of Tampa Bay’s top comedic talent, with all proceeds directly supporting The Gabber Newspaper’s vital work in providing independent, community-focused journalism for the south Pinellas area.

In the spirit of the Halloween holiday, costumes are welcome, but not required.

“We are thrilled to partner with The Gabber Newspaper, an institution that truly enriches our community,” said Kenny Garcia, owner of the Sunshine City Comedy Club. “This event is a fantastic opportunity for people to enjoy a night of hilarious entertainment while contributing to the sustainability of local news that so many rely on.”

The Gabber Newspaper has served the community for nearly 60 years, delivering essential news, features, and event coverage. As a local, independent publication, it relies on community support to continue its mission.

“The Gabber Newspaper is incredibly grateful to Sunshine City Comedy Club for hosting ‘Laughs for Local News’,” said Barry Loper, co-owner of The Gabber Newspaper. “This partnership highlights the importance of local businesses supporting local journalism. We invite everyone to come out for a night of laughter and help us continue to tell the stories that matter in our community.”
