ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a stern warning to those planning an unsanctioned “beach party” this Saturday at Pepper Park Beach.

Sheriff Richard Del Toro has taken a firm stance against the event, which is being promoted on social media without the necessary permits.

Sheriff Del Toro said that he has designated the Pepper Park Beach area as a “Special Event Zone.” What does this mean for partygoers? All fines will be doubled for any violations, and vehicles could be impounded for traffic infractions.

The Sheriff emphasized that this measure will stay in effect as long as it’s needed to safeguard the community.

Sheriff Del Toro made it clear: “Unpermitted events that place our community at risk will not be tolerated.”

He highlighted that organizers could face financial repercussions for any public safety responses required as a result of the gathering.

According to Del Toro, those considering attending should be aware that any form of disorderly conduct, traffic violations, or other illegal activities will be met with action.
