PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A crash in Port St. Lucie claimed the life of a 68-year-old man on Tuesday, leaving a trail of destruction that ended with his Dodge Ram overturned in a drainage ditch.
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD), officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Southwest Mullinax Avenue and Southwest Rosser Boulevard at 4 p.m.
The report states a Dodge Ram, driven by Robert Cevetello, was operating erratically in the northbound lane of Southwest Rosse Boulevard, passing several vehicles.
According to PSLPD, as northbound traffic approached, Cevetello swerved back into the southbound lane and collided with a Chevy Camaro.

The impact pushed the Camaro onto the west shoulder sidewalk. The Dodge Ram continued to lose control, drove onto the sidewalk, and struck several trees before ultimately overturning and landing upside down in a nearby drainage ditch, per the report.
Emergency services, including St. Lucie County Fire Rescue, responded to the scene where Cevetello was found dead inside the truck. He was pronounced dead by officials at approximately 5:30 p.m.
PSLPD said that the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
