The most popular diving shop in the Florida Keys is making its Tampa debut. Divers Direct, a family-owned dive shop and community hub, is now officially open in Tampa at 418 N Dale Mabry Hwy.

The opening is huge news for divers throughout Florida’s West Coast, as the massive supply shop immediately becomes a destination for divers throughout the area. To celebrate their debut, the store is hosting a massive Grand Opening party this Saturday, April 18, from 12-6 pm. Divers Direct will be raffling off high-quality gear and offering door prizes, in addition to One Stop Food Truck serving up burgers, chicken and drinks all afternoon.

As for the store itself, Divers Direct is set to change the game for locals and visitors alike. The store is a veritable emporium that has established itself as Florida’s go-to for all diving needs. And it’s not just diving equipment. They have an entire apparel area with a great selection of sandals, apparel and bathing suits for water sports, boating, and basically any excuse you can come up with to be on or by the water.

Divers Direct has made a name for itself for several reasons, but there are two big keys. First, they know the state and its waters, and the subsequent needs of those who spend time in them. Second, they cover all needs, including scuba, snorkeling, spearfishing, and more. Whatever it is you enjoy – or want to learn – they have you covered.

While Divers Direct got its start in the Keys (one of the world’s preeminent destinations for diving), they have tailored this new store specifically to the needs and options of the Tampa Bay Area and Florida’s Gulf Coast. From the warm waters to the offshore diving spots closest to the Bay, they’re experts in the needs of divers in the area and have curated a store and community gathering space that reflects Tampa and the region. They also have locations in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando.

The expert staff at Divers Direct sets them apart, as well. You aren’t getting pushy salesmen or cashiers who don’t know the product. It’s a team made up of people who are divers themselves, who use the same equipment they offer guidance on, and who dive in the same waters as their customers. Since getting their start as a small mom-and-pop shop 40 years ago in Key Largo (and they’re still family-owned), that experience and authenticity have remained a core tenet of their approach.

For scuba divers, the store carries a full range of BCDs, regulators, dive computers, wetsuits, masks, and fins from trusted brands. The staff is educated and ready to help you find the perfect wetsuit for Gulf conditions. They also stock a wide variety of snorkeling gear, including masks, snorkels, fins, and full-face masks for comfortable exploration.

With spearfishing as a passion for many in the Gulf, locals will be happy to hear that Divers Direct stocks spearguns, wetsuits, masks, fins, and floats for every level of spearfisher. You’ll also find apparel, footwear, boating essentials, beach gear, sunglasses, brands like Pelagic and Avid, sun protection, and plenty more.
