FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—Residents in Fort Myers and Naples claimed $5 million in unclaimed property, according to data from the Florida Department of Financial Services.

In March alone, Lee County data shows that just under $2 million in unclaimed property was returned to residents.

Over $1.9 million was returned to residents in Collier County last month, and more than $900,000 was returned in Charlotte County.

But those numbers seem low compared to the amount of money still waiting to be claimed. In Lee County alone, almost $130 million remains unclaimed.

Nearly $81 million in unclaimed property remains in Collier County. More than $36 million remains in Charlotte County.

Residents can check online at any time to see if any of that money could be theirs.
