It’s peak fall time, and Florida International University organizations are taking full advantage of the season.
Monday, Oct. 27th, all students are invited to join a Shadow Work Costume Party at MMC’s Graham Center, room 305, where costumes aren’t required but recommended! This event is set to take place from 6 to 10 p.m. and is being hosted by the Spiritual Beings Club. Start your Halloween week off with scary fun!
The Psychology Ambassadors for Student Success is hosting a night of psychological horror movies with coloring, crafts, and snacks. This Halloween Movie Night will take place in MMC’s Graham Center room 316 on Oct. 29th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Show up in costume or Halloween pajamas for the full cozy experience!
Have your tricks and treats with the Worn/Reborn Alternative Fashion & Upcycling Club! The organization is hosting a Spooky Potluck in MMC’s Graham Center, room 305, on Oct. 29th. From 5 to 9 p.m., experience a Halloween-themed potluck in your best costumes!
Students should keep an eye out for the Halloween Bash on Oct. 30th from 6 to 10 p.m. With a costume contest, karaoke, crafts, pumpkin carving, and snacks, the Parkview Housing Multipurpose Room, PVH 100, is sure to be full of friends to connect with. This event is hosted by the Garden Club, Geology Club, Society for Sustainable Souls, Green Campus Initiative, Meteorology Club, Sigma Tau Delta, Arboretum Ambassadors, and Sustainable Sports.
Spend your Monday afternoon at the Green Game: Men’s Basketball Home Opener! On Nov. 3rd, from 12 to 7 p.m., learn about environmental initiatives reducing the impacts of sporting events while you watch the match! This event is being hosted by Sustainable Sports.
Make yourself some accessories with Reimaging Ideas through Project Exploration (RIPE)! The club is hosting a Group Jewelry Making Workshop in MMC’s Graham Center, room 305, on Nov. 4th. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., learn techniques and use your creativity to make the best of bling!
Players of Marvel Rivals may be interested in the Marvel Rivals Tournament hosted by FIU Student Health and Wellness and GameHERs. Join the friendly competition and giveaways for team-building fun and the chance to win a Pickleball set or gift card from $50 to $100—but you have to register by Nov. 1st! The event will take place on Nov. 6th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Alienware Esports Lounge at MMC.
