Trips & Tours: Freedom Tower & Bayside Marketplace
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A guided bus trip from the Key Biscayne Community Center visits Miami’s historic Freedom Tower, offering insight into its role as a cultural landmark and symbol of immigration history. The outing continues with lunch and free time at Bayside Marketplace. Trip departs at 10:00 a.m., with limited space available.

Electronics & Shredding Event
8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A community recycling event offers a safe way to dispose of electronics, paperwork and household waste while supporting environmental protection. This event also introduces a new chemical collection, accepting items such as paints, pesticides, solvents and used oil. Designed to keep hazardous materials out of landfills and waterways.

Earth Day Cleanup
9 a.m. to Noon. Hosted by Miami Waterkeeper, this event brings volunteers together at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park for a morning of environmental action a marine, including debris cleanup, native planting, and interactive activities. Participants are encouraged to bring water, sun protection and appropriate clothing for outdoor work. Community service hours are available.

Poetry & Protecting Our Planet
5 to 6:30 p.m. An Earth Day celebration brings poetry and environmental awareness together, inviting all ages to explore themes of sustainability through creative writing, interactive prompts and community connection. Free Tutoring
10 to 11 a.m. Available every Sunday at the Key Biscayne Police Station, providing academic support for students. Led by some of Miami’s top high school tutors, these sessions offer help with homework across various subjects. Students can drop in for one-on-one guidance in a supportive learning environment. No registration is required, just bring your materials and questions. Free.

Annual Family Fun Day
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. An inclusive community celebration brings rides, entertainment and family-friendly activities to the Key Biscayne K–8 Field; offering a welcoming environment for all ages, including a dedicated early “Super Hero” hour for children with special needs, followed by general admission for the full community. Free and open to the public.

Petals & Pastimes
1 to 4 p.m. A spring garden party at the historic Merrick House celebrates community, culture and the legacy of Althea Merrick. The afternoon features lawn croquet, floral demonstrations, fashion, poetry crafts and live entertainment, alongside local vendors and food.

Driver’s License & Other Services Event
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s TConnect mobile office will offer convenient access to essential services. Residents can renew or replace driver’s licenses and IDs, update vehicle registrations, apply for handicap permits and more. Appointments are required, and attendees should bring the required original documents for service.
