One of our white sandy beaches claimed the No. 1 spot on U.S. News and World Report’s rankings.
SARASOTA, Fla. — When it comes to beautiful beaches, Tampa Bay has everyone beat — at least according to U.S. News and World Report’s list of Best Beaches in the U.S. for 2026.
Our local beaches dominated the rankings, claiming the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 9 spots.
To come up with the list, U.S. News considered factors like clean sands, pleasant waters and high-quality attractions.
Famous for its powdery white sand and laid-back atmosphere, Siesta Key was named the No. 1 Best Beach in the U.S. for 2026.
“Best known for its dazzling white, powder soft sand beaches that are consistently ranked among the best in the U.S., and indeed the world, Siesta Key is a must-visit for beachgoers,” U.S. News wrote.

Not far down on the list is Anna Maria Island at No. 3.
This Manatee County public beach was praised for its “7 acres of wide white shoreline and amenities for every member of the family – think: playgrounds, showers, volleyball nets, and a cafe and bar.”

Finally, sitting comfortably at No. 9 is Pinellas County’s Clearwater Beach.
U.S. News called it “ideal for active travelers and relaxation seekers alike.”
“After a day at the beach, catch the free nightly sunset celebration at Pier 60, which is complete with street performers and local artisans,” the company wrote.

Other Florida beaches that made the top 10 include Sanibel Island at No. 6 and Destin at No. 8. Check out U.S. News and World Report’s full list.
