Jaguars move on from Baker County High product Cooper Hodges

  • April 17, 2026

Full Interview: Jaguars Linebacker Cooper Hodges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars are moving on from offensive lineman Cooper Hodges, a former Baker County High School star.

The team announced the move alongside Friday’s trade of Maason Smith to the Falcons for DL Ruke Orhorhoro.

Hodges was a seventh-round pick of Jacksonville in 2023 and was a good pick to contribute as a rookie. But he was injured in the preseason and continued to battle those throughout his time in town. Hodges returned in 2024 and logged a combined 94 offensive and special teams snaps. He suffered a season-ending led injury against the Eagles in early November and went on injured reserve again. Hodges spent 2025 on the physically unable to perform list while still recovering from that injury.

Hodges was just the fifth player who graduated from a local high school to be drafted by the hometown Jaguars, joining Rashean Mathis (Englewood), Dee Webb (White), Larry Smith (Charlton County) and Shaquille Quarterman (Oakleaf).
