WESTON, Fla. (CBS12) — After more than a week-long search, Broward deputies arrested a 17-year-old on Friday for the brazen assault of a woman in Weston.

Following the attack, Broward County Sheriff’s Office detectives launched an intensive investigation to identify and locate the individual, successfully utilizing a combination of advanced technological resources and traditional investigative police work.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:39 p.m. on April 8, near the 16300 block of Golf Club Road in Weston, per previous reports.

According to surveillance footage, she was sitting on the grass when an unknown subject approached and appeared to be exposing himself before grabbing her from behind. She struggled with the attacker before he eventually released her, put on his shoes, and fled the scene on foot.
