TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Carolina softball fell 8-4 to No. 10 Florida State on Friday night.

The game saw Emily LeGette move into a tie for second most RBI in a single season in program history. Sanaa Thompson extended her on-base streak to 28 games and Lexie Roberts kept pace extending her streak to 25 games.

The damage was done in the first inning with Florida State plating five runs.

The Tar Heels would fight back, getting two runs back with a Roberts triple and an Emily LeGette sacrifice fly.

Sanaa Thompson tacked on two more in the seventh but that would be all the Tar Heels could push across.

Jil Livengood was outstanding out of the bullpen, throwing 5.2 innings only allowing two earned runs. The freshman continues to impress out of the bullpen this season against ranked teams.
