HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were killed in a crash on State Road 60 in Hillsborough County Friday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a GMC Yukon was traveling west on SR-60 around 11:25 p.m. At the same time, a 50-year-old woman was walking near the intersection at Horton Road.
FHP says the woman walked into the path of the driver, a 20-year-old Plant City man.
He attempted to avoid the woman but ultimately struck her and lost control of his vehicle.
The vehicle then departed the roadway and overturned, causing the driver to be ejected.
The driver and pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
