Larry J. Besterda
OBITUARY
Larry passed away April 15, 2026, at age 65. A proud graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, he spent his career in hospitality and retail. Known for a strong work ethic, exceptional customer service, and unfailing punctuality, he was everyone’s “favorite guy.” He had a wry sense of humor, an infectious smile, and a twinkle in his bright green eyes. For the past eight years, he faced many complications from a stroke yet remained positive. When asked how he was, he never complained, replying “Alright-ish” with a smile. He rarely asked for help, but always said thank you when it was given. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Delores Besterda, and his brother, Louis J. Besterda. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Michael Carter; his sister, Lisa Besterda; and his niece and nephew, Amanda and Jeff Walters. We will miss him and his 8:15 a.m. posting of the “joke of the day.”
