Miami drivers are seeing a bit of relief at the pump this week.
According to GasBuddy’s latest survey of 1,690 stations across the metro area, average gasoline prices have fallen 11.6 cents per gallon, now averaging $2.91 as we start the week.
The new price is 4.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 18 cents per gallon below last year’s average. The cheapest station in Miami reported gas at $2.59 on Sunday. Across Florida, prices ranged from $2.55 to $4.49.
On Key Biscayne, the price of regular at both gas stations stayed at $4.79, which is one of the highest in Miami-Dade County.
Nationally, the average price of regular also dipped, down 6.4 cents to $3.02 per gallon.
“Americans appear to be on the cusp of seeing the national average drop below $3 per gallon for the first time in years,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “We could even see a handful of stations in places like Oklahoma, Texas, or Wisconsin drop below $2 per gallon in the weeks ahead, something not seen since the pandemic.”
