ICE arrests in Florida (ICE)
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Commissioners will likely face renewed pressure from opponents on Tuesday over the county’s agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The contract has been at the center of a weeks-long dispute. The county says the federal government is not reimbursing enough money to cover the costs of housing migrants at the county jail, and officials want to renegotiate the deal.

Some critics are going further — calling on the county to cut ties with federal immigration officials entirely. But doing so would put the county in violation of state law.
Tuesday’s meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m.
