TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Less than two weeks after Tallahassee State College chose not to renew their athletic director’s contract, the school is now also looking for a new head men’s basketball coach, as Corey Hendren left to take an assistant coaching job at Georgia State.
“I want everyone to know how thankful I am for TSC and how great the experience has been,” said Hendren through a release by the school. “This program, this College, and this community have meant so much to my family and me. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built here and even more proud of the young men who have come through this program.”
Hendren was hired at TSC in 2023, and in three seasons with the Eagles went 59 and 34, leading them to a top ten national ranking this season, earning Panhandle Co-Coach of the Year honors.
In his three seasons, 17 players transferred to four-year institutions, including seven to NCAA Division I programs.
Dr. Sheri Rowland, who is serving as the Interim Athletics Director, is leading the search for Hendren’s replacement.
