PINELLAS PARK — A Largo man was arrested after he sexually battered a worker at a Pinellas Park massage parlor, then tried to destroy evidence and prevent the victim from calling 911, police said.
Adreon Javon Grant, 40, was charged with sexual battery and witness tampering, the Pinellas Park Police Department said April 10.
Officers responded to Pure & Wellness Spa at 8831 49th St. N. about 9 p.m. April 8 after the victim reported the attack, according to police. Grant had entered the business and requested a massage, then sexually battered the victim during the session, police said.
Before fleeing, Grant took items he believed could be used to identify him and tried to stop the victim from calling 911, authorities said.
Detectives identified Grant as the suspect and continued developing leads, police said. More than six hours after the attack, officers spotted him driving past the business. When they tried to stop him, Grant crashed his vehicle into a tree, police said.
He was taken into custody without incident and was not injured in the crash, according to police. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
