Frontier flight returns to Orlando after windshield crack mid-air

A Frontier Airlines flight from Orlando to Houston returned to Orlando International Airport this morning after pilots discovered a crack in the windshield mid-flight. Passenger Bettina Collins said the flight took off as scheduled at 6:34 a.m., but roughly 45 minutes to an hour into the journey, the captain announced over the PA system that the plane would be returning to Orlando due to the issue. “I was sitting close enough I could hear the flight attendants talking, and she said she heard noise in the cabin, and when she called in there, they said it was difficult to talk because they had their oxygen masks on,” Collins said. “It’s very concerning. Yeah, it’s scary,” she added. Collins said she was surprised the pilots didn’t try to land somewhere else instead of flying all the way back to Orlando. She said that once the plane landed safely back at Orlando International Airport, she was rebooked onto another flight. Frontier Airlines has not yet responded to requests for more information about the incident.
