TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida Democrat Alex Vindman is officially running for the U.S. Senate.
Alex Vindman filed at the Division of Elections Office in downtown Tallahassee. Vindman is best known as the whistleblower who testified in President Trump’s first impeachment trial in 2019.
“It’s an honor for me to be out here to fight for your votes, to represent you,so that you know that when you show up, when you have a question, that it gets heard, that it gets answered, and that you don’t get dismissed just because you’re a different party. I’m running to represent everybody in this state. It doesn’t make a difference who you voted for.”
The candidate served in the army for decades and retired in 2020. He then moved to South Florida, where he says affordability has become a big problem and D.C. isn’t listening.
The Republican National Committee released a statement on Vindman’s campaign, saying he’s a “radical Democrat hack obsessed with impeaching President Trump and stopping the Republican agenda.”

The Republicans also urged Floridians to trust Sen. Ashley Moody.
“Floridians trust Senator Ashley Moody to keep putting them first, and that’s exactly why she’ll win in November.”
Recent polls show that Vindman is the favorite to face Moody. State Rep. Angie Nixon is the second favorite.
