A man was arrested on Wednesday morning after being accused of impersonating a firefighter at the scene of a fire, according to the Ocoee Police Department. While working to put out a fire at 922 N. Lakewood Ave., Ocoee Fire Department personnel noticed a man dressed as a firefighter, but they did not recognize him.Henry Roth, 20, was escorted off the scene by OPD before he told officers he was a “fire enthusiast and is trying to get into the fire academy this August,” according to the arrest report.The Deputy Chief Fire Marshal said he observed Roth taking pictures while wearing what appeared to be a fire department uniform with a radio and a typical radio strap.The chief told Roth he was not allowed on the scene without the proper credentials and asked him to leave. The chief escorted him over to the OPD officers, telling them Roth was impersonating a firefighter, according to the arrest report. This is considered a third-degree felony, according to police. During police questioning, they asked about how Roth obtained the radio.”Roth stated he had bought the radio about a year ago via Facebook Marketplace for approximately $2,000, but could not provide information on who he purchased it from,” the report said.The 20-year-old explained he was just there to take pictures of the scene, which is something he had been doing since August 2025.Roth was transported to the jail without incident. This remains an active and ongoing investigation conducted by OFD.
